Bathurst … Norman Doucet, 76, of Chaleur St., passed away on Sunday (26 April 2009) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst, after a brief illness. Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late Wilfred and Delima (Couture) Doucet. He worked at the former Consolidated Bathurst Paper Mill and also in carpentry. He was pre-deceased by his wife, Patricia Couture in 1997. He is survived by: Three sons: Richard of Montreal Normand Jr. (Annie Degrace) of Beresford Denis (Diane White) of Bathurst Nine daughters: Anita Legacy (Blair), Pauline Gamache (Leo), Linda Couture (Gerald Sivret), Marguerite Pitre (Michel), Joanne Bryanton (Gary), Nicole Doucet (Laurent Godin), Nathalie Comeau (André) all of Bathurst Lisa Doucet (Jean Marc Roy) of Nigadoo Denise Doucet (Brian Crandall) of Toronto Five sisters: Jeannette Chamberlain, Simonne Doucet, Rita Couture, Estelle Couture and Irene Couture all of Bathurst Also survived by his friend, Jasmine Cyr of Bathurst. 31 Grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by a daughter; Marie and many brothers and sisters. The body is will rest after 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Elhatton Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday morning at 11 a.m. from the Sacred Heart Cathedral, St. Andrew St. Visiting hours are Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9.
