Alen Smith, 72, husband of Sandra (Murphy) Smith, died Friday (September 17, 2004) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst. He worked as a carpenter and fisherman for most of his life. Beside his wife, he is survived by: Three sons: Andrew Smith, Victor Smith (Debrah), both of Montreal, Que. and Alen Smith Jr. of Bathurst; Four daughters: Sheila Smith (Yvon Decelles), Sherrie Smith (Patrick Savard), Darlene McLellan (Stewart), and Cinthia Lencz (David) all of Montreal, Que.; One brother: Clarence Smith (Mary) of Toronto, ON; One sister: Murtle Pelletier (Thomas) of New York, USA; Ten grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Funeral Service was held on Sunday afternoon (September 19, 2004) from Elhatton's Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. David Eagles officiating. Arrangements were in the care of Elhatton's Funeral Home, Bathurst.
