Bathurst - Mrs. Lianna Noel, 83, of the Robert K. Knowles Veterans Unit, and formerly of Whelton Dr., Bathurst, died Tuesday (March 22, 2005) at the Robert K. Knowles Veterans Unit after a lengthy illness. Born in St. Quentin, she was the daughter of the late Gervais and Adelia (Moreau) Chiasson. She served in World War II, with the Royal Canadian Air Force (WD), and was a member of the Herman J. Good, V.C. Br. 18, Royal Canadian Legion, Bathurst. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Anaclet Noel, in 1992. She is survived by: One daughter: Anne Marie Noel of Tracadie-Sheila, NB Six brothers: Adéodat Arthur Chiasson of Shelbyville, Del. USA Yvon Chiasson of Castlegar, BC Roland Chiasson and John Chiasson both of Clearwater, BC Eddy Chiasson of Selbyville, Del. USA Bernard Chiasson of Ocean Pines, Md. USA Three sisters: Gilberte Thomas of Fall River, Mass. USA Frances Trider (Jerry) of Stanley, NB Hazel Gonzalez of Reno, Navada, USA Two grandchildren, Mylène and Maxime Santerre, several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by four sisters, Laurette, Izella, Aldéa, Anida; three brothers, Nestor, Laurent and Donald. The body will rest after 2 p.m. Sunday at Elhatton's Funeral Home, Bathurst. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday (March 28, 2005) at 2:00 p.m. from Our Lady of the Rosary Church (Eglise Notre Dame du Rosaire), St. Peter Ave., Bathurst.
