It is with saddened hearts, we the family, announce the passing of Harold Bruce Leakey which occurred on Thursday, June 29th, 2023, at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, surrounded by his family, at the age of 71.

He is survived by sons Michael, Mark (Melanie) and Alan (Andrea) as well as his partner, Brigitte Latulippe.

Granddaughters: Hannah, Addison, Bella and Elizabeth and the mother of his children Lorraine Imhoff and many nieces and nephews.

His brothers: Bob Leakey of Ontario and Mark Grenier of Florida, sisters: Susie Mcmahan of Tennessee and Terri Jack of Ontario.

He was predeceased by his father Sanford Leakey and mother Colombe Grenier and his beloved kitty Zowie.

In life, he was employed by the Provincial Ministry of the Environment in Belleville Ontario. In his position he earned the respect and friendship of his colleagues. He had a love of adventure, travel and agriculture. In his retirement he could often be found enjoying time outdoors in his garden or greenhouse.

We will miss him greatly, he had a wonderful sense of humor, curiosity of the world and showed kindness to many. He loved his family and often showed it through his cooking.

The family appreciated the compassionate care received from the hospital staff during his final days in palliative care.

There will be no visitation or funeral as per his wishes. A private burial will be held at a later date.

In memory of Harold a donation to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated.
