Earl was a man who loved his work. Early mornings into early evenings were a common occurrence. He was a carpenter by trade and he continued working till he was 79 years old. He took great pride in his work and he was always ready to tell you of a new project he was doing or one he had done. He was also a fisherman for many years, fishing lobster, herring and mackerel. Being on the water was something he loved. He also loved the outdoors where Patsy and him could be found fishing, picking up treasures, picking berries or just enjoying the scenery. Hunting was also a passion which he enjoyed every fall with his brothers.

Having his family around meant so much to him and he looked forward to seeing his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren visit. He was so proud of them all. Visiting was important to dad, not only seeing family and friends come by, which was a common occurrence as we grew up and this continued throughout his life up to his last days. He also loved to visit, he would be out for a drive and spontaneously drop in on a family member, friend or neighbor for a chat and a story or two. Many hearts were touched and looked forward to these visits. He will be sadly missed by family, friends and all who knew him.

The family would like to extend a thank you to Dr. Wade and the Extra Mural nurses, with special mention to his primary care nurse Daniel Comeau, who took such special care of our dad. Your compassion and kindness will always be remembered.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Elhatton Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), on Tuesday August 22nd from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, August 23rd, 2023 from Holy Family Church. A reception will be held following the funeral Mass at Evangel Pentecostal Church, 150 Basin Drive, across the street from Terry Fox Elementary School.
