It is with heavy hearts that we, the family, announce the passing of Mary Jean Knowles wife of the late Carl Knowles which occurred at the Chaleur Regional Hospital on Saturday, September 23, 2023, at the age of 79.

Born in L’islet, Quebec, she was the daughter of the late Bill and Elva Macleod.

She leaves behind her children: Mark Kelly Mclean of New Brunswick, Scott Kelly (Kim) of Fredericton, NB., Tara Philbrick (Jay) of Maine, U.S.A. and Tyler Knowles of Clifton, NB.

Grandchildren: Mackenzie Mclean, Pheonix Kelly, Cannon Kelly, Jade Kelly, Jana Kelly, Javona Philbrick and Titus Philbrick.

Six great-grandchildren: Tanner, Tinley, Taylee, Talon, Silas, and Abel.

Jeanie was a wonderful mother and great friend too many. Jean was a devout Christian and was an active member at her church. She loved her family and always had time for them. She was our rock! Mom was an avid reader, she would read for hours every day. Her knowledge was vast on many topics but mostly the gospel. She made believers of many and was blessed with a beautiful family that loved and adored her. As painful as it is to see her go, we are so appreciative to have had her in our lives. She is now where she wanted to be, in heaven with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Besides her husband she was predeceased by her daughter Lana Kelly, her siblings Betty Kelly and Lloyd Macleod.

Visitation will be held at Bathurst Christian Fellowship Church on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, from 12-2p.m. Funeral service will be held at 2p.m.

Donations in memory of Mary Jean may be made to the Bathurst Christian Fellowship Church, or a charity of the donor’s choice.
