It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Donna Clinch (Sullivan) on Thursday, January 18th, 2024 at the Saint John Regional Hospital following a brief illness.

Born in Saint John and raised in Bathurst, she was the daughter of the late R.B and Joan Sullivan.

Donna is survived by her husband of 55 years, Roger Clinch, and leaves an indelible mark on the hearts of her three children: Tracy, Robbie (Allyson), and Jonathan (Amy). Her love extended to her adored grandchildren – Julia, Rebecca, Emily, Elliana, and Lyla – who were the joy of her life.

As the oldest sister of the Sullivan clan, Donna will be missed by her brothers Craig (Christine) and Bob (Chantal) and her sister Terry. She will also be fondly remembered by her sisters in marriage, Ann Quigg (Frank) and Jane Ouellette (Lou) and by several nieces and nephews. Donna's kindness and gentle nature touched the hearts of many, leaving a void that will be deeply felt by her friends and family.

Donna dedicated 30 years to the banking industry before embracing retirement. Beyond her professional pursuits, she had a passion for curling and proudly represented New Brunswick at the 1988 Scott Tournament of Hearts after winning the Provincial Championship. A long-time member of the Bathurst Curling Club, Donna's sporting achievements were complemented by her love for bridge, frequently engaging in spirited games with partners Ann Quigg and Bernice Jardine.

However, Donna's heart always found its way back to her humble abode in Youghall Beach. Her love for family was paramount; she reveled in moments with grandchildren, took pride in watching her children's sporting endeavors, and dedicated years to caring for her mother after her father's passing. This past Christmas was one of fun and laughter with all the children and grandchildren gathered in Moncton for the annual ‘Clinchmas’ celebration.

There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday January 24th, 2024, at 2 p.m. at the First United Church, St. Patrick St., Bathurst, NB. The family will also welcome friends and family at a reception in the church hall following the ceremony.

The family kindly requests donations in memory of Donna be made to the SPCA, Chaleur Regional Hospital Foundation, or a favorite charity.

The Clinch family expresses profound gratitude for the overwhelming support and condolences received during this challenging time.

Arrangements are in the care of Elhatton’s Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst.
