It is with great sadness that we, the family, announce the death of Maurice “Mick” Proctor which occurred peacefully at the Chaleur regional hospital on July 9th, 2025, at the age of 67 after a brief illness which he accepted with great courage and strength.

Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late Francis and Christine Proctor.

Mick worked for the town of Beresford for 40 years where he made lifelong friends with his coworkers Serge, Martin, Jean Marc and Roger to name a few. He took great pride in his work.

He is survived by his wife, Della who was not only his wife but his caregiver as he faced many health issues for the past 3 years. He is also survived by his sisters; Theresa Landry (Roger), Emily Hachey (William), Marjorie Aubé, Eunice Proctor, Sonia Proctor (Eddy Ramsay) and Phyllis Pitre (Daniel Haché); brothers-in-law Eugene Gallagher (Cathy), Ron Gallagher (Lise); sisters-in-law Linda White (Rod), Lisa Gallagher; as well as many nieces and nephews and last but not least his beloved fur baby, Jasper.

He was predeceased by his parents and sisters Geraldine (Gerry) Sealy and Carol Proctor, as well as his mother and father-in-law Laurette and John Gallagher and brother-in-law Mark Gallagher.

We would like to thank Dr. Nicholas Ault for his excellent care and ability to make Mick laugh during his difficult last weeks. We also thank Dr. Martine Theriault, Dr. Nathalie Cauchon and Dr. Lucie Morais and the staff in palliative care (a special mention to Julie Hébert and Wanda Mazerolle for their care and attention during his final weeks in the hospital.

A funeral service will be held on July 25,2025 at 2pm at the Elhatton Funeral Home Chapel, Bathurst. Donations in Maurice's memory may be made to a memorial of one’s choice.
