Bathurst - With heavy hearts, we the family, remember Shawn Gallant, who passed away suddenly on July 17th, 2025, at the age of 45, in Bathurst.

Shawn was the cherished son of Diane (Myers) Gallant and Jean-Claude Gallant from Bathurst.

He leaves behind his loving wife, Joanne (Gray) Gallant and Brody Gallant, from Bathurst.

He also leaves behind his beloved twin brother, Bruce Gallant of Moncton, his younger brothers Justin Gallant and Matthew Gallant, all of Bathurst, as well as many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Shawn’s greatest joy came from his roles as a father and husband. Time spent on the basketball court with Brody showcased his values of mentorship, fairness, and deep unconditional love.

Born and raised in Bathurst, Shawn shared an inseparable bond with his twin brother Bruce. Growing up you could never find one without the other, always having “each others back”.

With an adventurous spirit and fearless drive, Shawn traveled coast to coast, forging lasting friendships from all walks of life, and earning respect in every circle and industry he joined. His dedication and work ethic propelled him into remarkable leadership roles. He was never afraid of hard work and led by example in everything he did.

His heart of service & compassion championed wellness and authenticity, often reminding others, “You do you, I’ll do me,” — words that encouraged people to live genuinely and embrace who they are. Generous and kind-hearted, Shawn frequently volunteered with his mother’s food program and supported his friend Denise Noel’s recovery initiative.

Full of visionary ideas, Shawn gave generously of himself to help those in need.

Diane’s meals will now be called “Shawn’s Mustard Seed” for the less fortunate, and Denise’s recovery program will now be called “The Exit”, in honor and in memory of Shawn.

Shawn's compassion, courage, and magnetic spirit will be deeply missed, yet his influence will live on in the lives he touched and the programs that carry his name and very own idea’s.

Donations can be made to “Shawn’s Mustard Seed” supporting his visions for the streets and the homeless.

The family will receive relatives and friends after 1 p.m. Thursday, July 31st, from where a celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. from Elhatton’s Funeral Home Chapel.
