Bathurst - Mr. Michael “Mike” Landry, husband of the late Sarah (Rooney) Landry, of Bathurst passed away on Friday July 18, 2025, at the Chaleur Regional Hospital.
Born in Bathurst he was the son of the late Herbert and Carmelita (Melanson) Landry.
He is survived by his three daughters: Ellen Landry (Gerry Shand) of Bathurst, Cheryl Scholten (Willy) of Fredericton and Michelle Smith (Marc) of Whitecroft BC and three grandchildren, Alex Smith, Emily Scholten (Nick) and Charlie Scholten.
Also survived by one sister, Jeanette Pierog (Roy) and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his brother Louis Landry.
Mike was also very fortunate to have had several good friends in his life to help him out in his golden years notably Arline Hachey and Mary Williamson.
Mike enjoyed working in several business and organizations through the years. He delivered fuel oil, furniture and trees with a smile on his face and a story to tell everyone he met. He was proud to have finished off his working days at NB Power in Belledune. Mike was also very community minded having spent many years as a Kinsmen (Life Member), with UCT, Chaleur Search and Rescue, and as a volunteer for the Chaleur Canada Games.
The family will receive relatives and friends after 1pm on Thursday July 24, 2025, at Elhatton’s Funeral Home Chapel from where a celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. at Elhatton’s Funeral Home Chapel with a reception to follow.
Donations in memory of Mike may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of the charity of the donors choice.
The family would like to thank the care providers at Southern Comfort Villa and the Chaleur Regional Hospital for their wonderful kindness and comfort to Mike over the last few years.
