Bathurst - It is with great sadness that we the family, announce to passing of Charles Lavigne, of Bathurst, which occurred Sunday July 27, 2025, at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst, at the age of 77.

Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late Aloysius and Sylvia (Lavigne) Lavigne.

Charles was retired from NB Power as a First-Class Linesman.

Besides his wife, Linda (Doucet) Lavigne, he is survived by a brother, David Lavigne (Estelle Boudreau) of Bathurst and a sister, Sandra Rothwell (late Philip) of St. Catherines, ON.

Several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was pre-deceased by a brother, John Denis and a sister, Elizabeth Gail Gray.

The family wish to thank Dr. A. Wade, the Oncology Departments in Bathurst and at the Dr. Georges L. Dumont Hospital in Moncton as well as the Palliative Care Unit of the Chaleur Regional Hospital in Bathurst, for the excellent care given to Charles during his illness.

Charles loved people and liked to introduce them to the knowledge of Jesus Christ.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday August 5, 2025, at 2 pm at the Elhatton Funeral Home Chapel, Bathurst. Donations in Charles’s memory may be made to the Bathurst Volunteer Center or a memorial of one’s choice.
