It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of Louise Doucet of Bathurst, the beloved wife of the late Raymond Doucet and Ralph McArdle. Louisa passed away at the Chaleur Regional Hospital on Monday, July 28, 2025, at the age of 90.
Born in Robertville, she was the daughter of the late Hector and Loida (Haché) Arseneau.
Though quiet and reserved, Louise found great joy in her bingo nights and cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a woman of kindness, strength, and authenticity—never one to seek attention, always remaining true to herself. Her warmth, generosity, and unwavering love touched the lives of many.
She is survived by: One daughter: Denise Cooper (Mort Moreau) of Bathurst
Two sons: Jacques Doucet of Bathurst and Maurice Doucet of Middle River
Three sisters: Ida Bertin, Yvette Arseneault, Noella Begin.
Six grandchildren: Shawn Doucet (Crystal), Randy Cooper, Cindy Cooper-Haché (Rémi), Danica Doucet, Mélanie Frigault(Tyler), Austin Cooper and Laurie Nantel
Six great-grandchildren: Austin Cooper, Jett Doucet, Derek Nantel-Ganley, Daisy Frigault, Beau Frigault, and Ted.
She was predeceased by a son Michel; three sisters: Marie Anne Christie, Hectorine Arseneau and Marie Claire Doucet as well as four brothers; Norbert, Armand, Levis and Raymond.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Résidence Vienneau, especially Linda, Kevin, and all the staff, for the compassion and care shown to Louisa. You truly became a part of our family.
And many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 1st at 11 a.m. at the Elhatton Funeral Home Chapel (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst.
