It is with deep sadness we, the family, announce the passing of our mother, Mrs. Célina “Mary” (Boucher) Vienneau, wife of the late Gérard Vienneau, which occurred on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, at the age of 86 years old.
Born in Bathurst, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Jeanne (Chamberlain) Boucher.
Mom is survived by her children: Glen Vienneau (Laura), Mona Barthelotte (Daniel), Donald Vienneau (Julie), Lynn Boudreau (Marc), and Denis Vienneau (Tanya); Grandchildren: René Vienneau (Kathleen), Eric Vienneau (Emilie), Céline Smyth (Odis), Michel Barthelotte (Kayla), Samantha Boudreau (Mark), and Jesse Boudreau; great grandchildren: Nolan, Ellie, Nathan, and Callie.
As well as siblings: Edgar Boucher, Alban Boucher (Anita), and Doran Boucher (Monique).
Besides her parents and husband, Mary was predeceased by her siblings: Hadley, Eloi, Riordon, Louis, Lionel, August, Alice, Kathleen, and Doreen
Mom was an avid sports fan; she spent many winter evenings watching her beloved Montreal Canadiens and Rachel Homan tossing rocks in the curling arena.
Mom’s wishes were to live in her apartment for as long as she possibly could and with a wonderful support system that was made possible. We would like to thank Nathalie Roy, Noella Godin, and Rosemonde Roy; with out you, living in her own home would not have been possible and for that we are forever grateful.
The family would also like to send out a special thank you to her “How’s about” crew, her special niece Linda and her husband Maurice Thibodeau, whom she affectionately called him “butler”. The meals and card games were always appreciated. Also, to the amazing staff at Extra Mural, Social Development Bathurst, Soins Mallais, and the outstanding staff at the Chaleur Regional Hospital their kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for her.
There will be no visitation at the Funeral Home. Funeral mass will be celebrated from the Sacred Heart Cathedral on Monday, September 8, 2025, at 11 am. Arrangements are in the care of Elhatton’s Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst.
