Ralph Duguay, better known as “Chicken” passed away very peacefully with his wife Ruth (Sealy) and other family members at his side on Tuesday, November 18th, 2025, at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst. He was 75 years old.

Ralph was the son of the late Alphonse and Jeannette (Duclos) Duguay.

He was retired from Brunswick Mines and also worked for the City of Bathurst during the summer months tending flowers all over the city.

Ralph enjoyed hunting, fishing, walking. He especially enjoyed meeting his friends for coffee at Tim Horton’s and McDonald’s. Ralph enjoyed going on trips with Ruth. The last trip was on a bus trip to Newfoundland in July.

He was a member of St. George’s Anglican Church. And a huge Montreal Canadians Fan.

Ralph battled cancer for several years, traveling to Toronto for five years, spending time in Moncton at the Dr. Georges Dumont Hospital, Fredericton as well as the Oncology Unit in Bathurst. He was so grateful for all the care provided to him by the doctors and nurses.

In his final days, he was able to spend time at home because of the Extra-Mural nurses. Many thanks to the great doctors who cared for him as well as the Extra-Mural nurses.

He is survived by his wife Ruth (Sealy); his siblings; Roger (Lillian), Blair, Linda all of Bathurst, Michel (late Anne) of Quispamsis, NB, Lionel (Sandra) of Rocky Mountain House, AB.

He is also survived by Ruth’s family; Dorothy Chiasson (late Lloyd) of Montague, PEI, Clifford Sealy (late Dianne), of Salmon Beach, Eunice Daley (late Alfred) of Canobie, Ester Good (late Glendon) (Tommy Lavigne), Elva Anderson (late Robert) both of Bathurst, Violet Anderson (Darryl) of Lake Egmont, NS, Earl Sealy (Shirley), Phyllis Collins (Alex), Grace Landry (Claude) all of Bathurst and John Sealy (Margaret) of Sunny Corner, NB.

Sisters-in-law; Carol Sealy (late Murray) of Bathurst and Margaret Sealy (late Walter) of Janeville.

Besides his parents he was predeceased by his sister Yvonne in infancy and two brothers, Denis and Herman.

As well as several nieces and nephews. He will also be missed by a great number of friends.

Donations in memory of Ralph may be made to St. George’s Anglican Church or a charity of the donor’s choice.

A private graveside service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are in the care of Elhatton Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst.
