Bathurst - It is with great sadness that the family of John Archibald “Archie” Fowlie announces his peaceful passing on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst, at the age of 79, with his family by his side.

Born in Black River, NB he was the son of the late Bill and Agnes (McLean) Fowlie.

Archie was predeceased by his wife of 57 years, Jean (Godfrey) Fowlie. He leaves behind sons: Dean (Erin) Fowlie of Ottawa and Dan (Amanda) Fowlie of Rothesay; sister Anna (Neil) Watling, grandsons Logan and Liam; granddaughter Aislynn; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Besides his spouse and parents, Archie was also predeceased by his baby daughter, brothers Ingram (Connie), Teddy (Bunny) and sister Beth.

Archie spent many years working for NBTel. He enjoyed hockey, and playing guitar. He was a member of First United Church and sang in the choir. He supported many charities throughout his life and served in various volunteer groups such as the Shriners, Scouting and NBTel Pioneers.

The family wishes to thank the staff of the palliative care unit at the Bathurst Hospital for their care.

In respecting Archie’s wishes internment to follow at a later date at Pine Grove Cemetery in Loggieville, NB. Donations in Archies memory can be made to the charity of choice.
