Bathurst - It is with great sadness that we the family of Cecile Pitre, of Bathurst, announces her peaceful passing, which occurred, on Saturday, December 6th, 2025, at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst at the age of 83.

Born in Bathurst, she was the daughter of the late Michel and Pricilla (Gauthier) Pitre.

She is survived by her children: Rebecca Smith (Arnold) of Nigadoo, Sonia (Bob) Hyslop of Moncton, Tabby Bennett (John) of Moncton. Son, Rodney Smith of Ottawa and stepson Philippe Voutour of Petitcodiac. Brother, Andre Pitre of Bathurst, 13 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 1 step-grandchild. Many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by the love of her life, Walter Voutour in 2023, her daughter, Aldea Smith in 2024 and her son Tony Smith in 2004 as well as three sisters, Yvonne Daigle, Stella Laurette and Beatrice Pitre, the father of her children, Harvey Smith and a sister-in-law Angie Pitre.

Funeral service will be held at Elhatton Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, December 16th, 2025, at 2 p.m.

Donations in memory of Cecile may be made to the Chaleur Regional Hospital foundation, the SPCA or a favorite charity.
