It is with heavy hearts that we, the family, announce the passing of Jeannine Blackett, wife of the late Edmund Blackett, which occurred at the Chaleur Regional Hospital on Tuesday December 9, 2025, at the age of 88.

Born in Bathurst, she was the daughter of the late Daniel Chiasson and the late Ella (Vienneau) Chiasson.

She leaves behind her daughter: Carol Ann Koepke (late Joe) of Bathurst.

Three sons: Gary Blackett, Brian Blackett (Mai) both of Oshawa, ON., and Kurt Blackett of Minden, ON.

Eight grandchildren: Chris, Vanessa, Eric, Geoff, Brett, Stephanie, Joey and Curtis.

Siblings: Roger Chiasson, Adrienne Pitre and Jean-Claude Pitre.

Several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a special partner Donald Walker, grandchild Craig, her brother Roderick and step-father, Aurele Pitre.

Visitation will be held at Elhatton’s Funeral Home on Wednesday December 17, from 7-9. Funeral service will be held on Thursday December 18, at 3p.m. from Elhatton’s Funeral Home Chapel.

Donations in memory of Jeannine may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada or a charity of the donor’s choice.
