Bathurst … Everett “Vic” Stever, 94, of Chamberlain Settlement and formerly of Salmon Beach, passed away on Sunday (August 13, 2006) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathust, after a short illness. Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late William and Georgina (Lavigne) Stever. He worked for the former Consolidated Bathurst Paper Mill and was a member of the company’s Quarter Century Club. He was pre-deceased by his wife, Hellen (Eagan) Stever, in 1985. He is survived by: One daughter: Carol Wong (Michael) of Chamberlain Settlement, NB One son: Frederick Stever (Rita) of Salmon Beach One brother: Joseph Stever (Marie) of Fredericton One sister: Loretta "Lolly" Erickson (Alfred) of Bathurst 10 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by a son; Hubert, four brothers; Alfred, Martin, Ernest "John", Leo and a sister; Mary. The body will rest after 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Elhatton’s Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst. Funeral service will be celebrated Wednesday morning (August 16, 2006) at 11:00 a.m. from the Funeral Home Chapel with Father Greg Cullingan officiating. Visiting hours are Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Burial will be in the Mount Carmel Cemetery, St. Mary’s Ave., Bathurst. For anyone wishing to send tokens of sympathy, the family would appreciate donations to the Palliative Care Unit of the Chaleur Regional Hospital Foundation or a favorite charity.
