It is with profound sadness that we the family announce the sudden death of (Marie Noëlla) Georgette (Dugas) Vienneau at the age of 77 in Bathurst. Born on Christmas Day, 1948 in Beresford, she was the daughter of the late Louis Dugas from Allardville and the late Elvina Caroline Boudreau from Beresford.
She was predeceased by her husband John (2004), her brother Jean-guy (1977), her son Michel and her father Louis (1997) and her mother Elvina (2022) at 101 years old.
She is survived by her son Serge and daughter Melanie (Keith Pinette) both of Bathurst. She will be dearly missed by her grandson Jeffrey Doucet, and his mother Fabienne.
She is survived by her brothers: Norbert Dugas (Huguette) of Bathurst, Gilles Dugas (late Francine) of Montreal, Renald Dugas (Suzanne Frenette/late Anne Dugas) of Petit-Rocher. Her sisters: Denise Dugas (Yvon Godin) of Beresford, Gisèle Boulay (Daniel) of Dunlop. Her nephews: Eric Dugas, Martin Dugas, Patrick Dugas and Remi Godin. Her nieces: Julie Vienneau, Hélène Boulay, and Dr. Karine Boulay.
Georgette was known for her love of the Montréal Canadians hockey team.
We would like to thank the staff at the Emergency and ICU for their wonderful care and compassion.
There will be a Celebration of Life for Georgette at Elhatton Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com) on Saturday June 6 from 10 am to 12 pm. Everyone who knows Georgette is more than welcome to attend.
A burial service will be held at a later date for immediate family at the Holy Rosary cemetery.
"Inquiètes-toi pas, tout va être correcte." (Don't worry, everything's going to be OK.) Georgette's last words to her daughter Melanie.
I know it will be, as she will be watching hockey games in Heaven.
