Bathurst - It is with great sadness that we the family announce the passing of Jeannine Vienneau, beloved wife of Rod Vienneau of Bathurst which occurred at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, on Thursday, June 18, 2026, surrounded by family. Jeannine was 78 years old.
Born in Bathurst, she was the daughter of the late Wilfred and Izella (Boucher) Boudreau.
She is survived by her beloved daughter Shelley Babin (Eric); two sisters: Jacqueline Arsenault (Omer) and Jeanne Boucher (Roland), as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her brother; Jacques Boucher.
She is also survived by her mother-in-law, Theresa Vienneau, sisters-in-law; Monique Boucher (Doran), Murielle Vienneau (late Gary), Betty Duguay (Wayne); brother-in-law, Danny Vienneau (Bonnie).
An Avid golfer, she enjoyed gardening, cooking and cross-country skiing. She cherished the time spent with the “crafty girls”, sharing laughter and many treasured memories.
She was known for her love of good company, especially enjoyed her weekly Sunday breakfasts with friends. Jeannine treasured going out for supper with her “G.E.” family, a close-knit group of friends whose companionship, laughter and support brought her great joy throughout the years.
Jeannine cherished the special friendships she shared with her close friends, “Betty and Guy” and delighted in travelling, attending concerts and enjoying life’s adventures by their side.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Chaleur Regional Hospital, 3rd West and the Palliative care unit, the Extra-Mural nurses and Dre. Ariane Bouchard for their compassionate care and support.
She will be greatly missed and forever in our hearts.
There will be no visitation at the funeral home. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday June 24, 2026, at 2 p.m. from Elhatton’s Funeral Chapel (www.elhatton.com). Donations in memory of Jeannine may be made to the Chaleur Regional Hospital or a charity of the donor’s choice.
