FLORENCE CAMERON (NEE DOUCET) passed away after a short illness on Tuesday, October 11th, 2005 at the Notre-Dame Hospital in Montreal Quebec. Born June 16th, 1932 in Bathurst, New Brunswick, she was the daughter of the late Adelard and Martina (Legacy) Doucet. She is survived by her husband of 55-years, Donald Cameron, her 7 daughters Claudette (Steven) Buckley (Moncton), Florence (Roger) Melanson (Nunavut), Evelyn (Roger) Mudryk (Alberta), Martina (Norman) Desilva (Bathurst), Euphemia (Claude) Berthélémé (Fredericton), Rachael (Luc) Dubé (Miramichi), and April (Mike) Ritchie and 8 sons Donald (Barb) Cameron (Bathurst), Angus Cameron (Alberta), Edgar (Donna) Cameron (Bathurst), Steven (Cheryl) Cameron (Bathurst), Owen (Janice) Cameron (Bathurst), Robert (Marilyn) Cameron (Dartmouth), Lawrence (Brenda) Cameron (Fredericton) and, Ian (Lori) Cameron (Saint John). Flo cherished her 46 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and, numerous nephews and nieces. Flo was predeceased by her parents Adelard and Martina (Legacy) Doucet, her step-father Henry Stockdale, her sister Bernice (Doucet) Duke and, brothers Joe Doucet and Edgar Doucet. She is survived by her sister Jean (Doucet) Richardson of Atholville, and brothers Corneil (Gloria) Doucet, Gerald Doucet both of Bathurst and Adelard Doucet of Atholville. Flo was an entrepreneur and volunteer. She ran her own canteen / take-out from her home and tried her hand as a salesperson for companies such as Sarah Coventry, and Avon. Her volunteer work included the South Bathurst Recreation Council, Saint Theresa Church, the CWL, the Bathurst Foster Parent's Association and, fund raising for various organizations such as Heart and Stroke Foundation , Cancer Society and, the Lung Association. Whether in sales or in volunteering, Flo always believed in involving her family. This importance of family, community, and religion is very present in her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Beginning in 1982, with 11 children living away from home, Flo and Don decided to become foster parents. Over the following 23-years, numerous children from various parts of New Brunswick would be blessed by their parenting skills. Flo loved and cared for each of these children as she did her own. In her later years, Flo began to enjoy flower gardening, summer-time at the cottage and time spent on her computer communicating with loved-ones. Resting at Elhatton`s Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 and on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. till time of Funeral. A church service will be held at St. Theresa Church, Bathurst on October 15th, 2005 at 11 am with Rev. Gregory Culligan officiating. Reception to follow at the St. Theresa Hall. For anyone wishing to send tokens of sympathy, donations can be made to the Lung Association or a favorite charity.
