Middle River- It is with great sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of a beloved wife and mother, Mrs. Simone Chiasson, wife of Roger Chiasson, of Middle River, which occurred Friday at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst, at the age of 83.

Born in Bathurst, she was the daughter of the late Honoré and Mélinda (Couture) Larocque.

Besides her husband, she is survived by four children:

Daniel of Bathurst,

Richard of Edmonton, AB,

Deborah Taylor (James) of Port Perry, ON and

Terri-Lynn Chiasson-Newcomb (Robert) of Big River.

Seven grandchildren:

Christopher, Brittany (Darryl), Brooke (Jimmy), Hayden (Caitlin), Evan (Courtney), Kaylen and Blake all of Ontario.

Twelve great-grandchildren whom she adored.

She also will be greatly missed by her loving companion, Penny, who was always by her side (woof you mom).

Two brothers:

Roger of Beresford and Gary of Tofino, BC.

Four sisters:

Violette of Bathurst, Marjorie Larocque of Brookline, ON,

Cathleen of Baie Comeau, QC and Jeannine of Dunlop.

Several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was pre-deceased by two brothers: Edmond and Albert.

There will be no visitation at the Funeral Home. Funeral service will be celebrated on Tuesday September 16, 2025, at 2 p.m. from Elhatton’s Funeral Home Chapel (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst. Donations in memory of Simone can be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
