Sydney Thomas Smith, of Brampton, ON passed away peacefully at Matthews House Hospice in Alliston, ON on Sunday September 14, 2025 at the age of 82.

Born in South Tetagouche, he was the son of the late Reginald and Ida Smith.

He is survived by his life partner Wanda Ellis, his children Donna Rawn (Owen), Sherry Smith and Derek Smith, granddaughters Amanda, Meghan, Maya, Eve and Sophia and grandson Dylan, great grandchildren Nevee, Atlas, Sterling, Abigail and Finnley.

Sydney is survived by his sister Jessie Williston (late Floyd) of Saint John as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers: Norman (late Vera), John (late Mary), Carmen (late Norma) and his sisters: Eunice (late Kenneth), Sadie (late George), Alice (John), Cora (late Walter), Eva (late Ralph) and his twin sister Helen.

Sydney will be remembered as a kind and generous man who was always willing to help those in need. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday September 23, 2025 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Elhatton Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst. Funeral service will take place Wednesday September 24, 2025, at 11 a.m. from Elhatton’s Funeral Home Chapel.
