It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of Wayne Desjardins, which occurred at the Chaleur Regional Hospital on Thursday, November 13th, 2025, at the age of 76.

Born in Timmins Ontario, in 1949, Wayne was the son of the late Hector Desjardins and late Helen (Niebudek) Desjardins. Wayne is pre-deceased by his brother Terry Desjardins of Trois Rivières, Québec.

He leaves behind his wife Danielle, son Christopher Desjardins (Carmen Leong) of Cary (North Carolina), daughter Melissa Desjardins of Yellowknife (NT), daughter Melanie Desjardins (Gregory Tink) of Yellowknife (NT), and son David Desjardins (Allison Godin) of Middle Sackville (NS). Wayne also leaves behind six grandchildren: Owen, Nathan, Lilian, Cameron, Maya and Gabrielle.

Wayne started his career as a hoist operator in the mining sector, working in various mines in Eastern Canada. He later became a paramedic and worked at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, and returned to mining in Mongolia, Ontario and Manitoba at the end of his career, retiring in 2012.
