Bathurst - Clifford Daigle, 69, of Patterson Cres., Bathurst, passed away on Tuesday (March 31, 2009) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst. Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late Dennis and Marguerite (Glazier) Daigle. He owned and operated the former "The Floor Store" until 1985 and later worked with Hatheway Ford, The Carpet Ranch and North Shore Welding. Past Grand Counselor of the United Commercial Travelers, Bathurst Council #827. He played with the Bathurst Alpine Paper Makers (1970 - 71) when they won the Hardy Cup and was inducted into the New Brunswick Sports Hall of Fame and the Bathurst Sports Hall of Fame. Clifford was an avid outdoorsman and loved fishing and hunting. Besides his wife, Hélène (Léger) Daigle, he is survived by: One son: André (Anne) of Dieppe One daughter: Nicole Daigle (Donald Comeau) of Bathurst. One brother: Armand Daigle (Dorice) of Bathurst One sister: Lynn Hachey (Jean Guy Doucet) of Bathurst Sister-in-law: Judy Daigle of Bathurst Four grandchildren; Dominique, Frédérique, Samuel and Gabrielle. Several nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by a brother; Cletus. There will be no visitation at the Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday afternoon (April 3, 2009) at 2 p.m. from the Sacred Heart Cathedral, ST. Andrew St, Bathurst, with a reception to follow. Donations in memory of Clifford may be made to the Chaleur Regional Hospital Foundation, Heart and Stroke Foundation, Diabetes Association, Chaleur Palliative Services or a favorite charity.
