Bathurst, Cleo Chamberlain died suddenly on Tuesday 31 March 2009 at his residence in Bathurst, at the age of 85. Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late Joseph Chamberlain and the late Martina Boudreau. He is survived by his wife, friend and companion of 60 years, Imelda (Pinet) Chamberlain, as well as his eight children: Mona (Richard Gibson) of Moncton; Monique (Robert Landry) of Dieppe; Jean-Guy (Nancy Babin); Colette (Jacques (Bourdages); Roland (Suzanne) Lanteigne; Claudia (Gary Aubie); Nicole (Lee Boucher) and Lisette (Gary Vienneau), all of Bathurst. Besides his wife and children, "pépère will be sadly missed by his 16 grandchildren: Jamin, Isak, Sally, Marie-Claude, Francoise, Alexandre, Gabrielle, Olivier, Nicholas, Laurence, Emilie, Zachary, Julie-Emma, Adam, Annie and Isabelle. He also leaves to morn his two sisters: Clothilda Chamberlain of Bathurst and Angela Green of Fredericton. He was pre-deceased by his granddaughter (baby) Marylène; his son-in-law, Yvon Bérubé; two sisters: Marie Chamberlain and Carmelle Lanteigne, as well as three brothers: Cyprien, Benoit and Jean. Mr. Chamberlain worked at the Consolidated Bathurst paper mill for 45 years. During his retirement, he loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed gardening and playing cards with his friends at the "Club d'Age d'Or" of Beresford. Above all, he had a passion for music, and he was well known as an excellent harmonica player. Visitations will be held at Elhatton Funeral Home, 187 St. George St., Bathurst on Friday 3 April 2009 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.. The funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday 4 April 2009 from Our Lady of the Rosary Church, St. Peter Ave., Bathurst at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be in the St. Mary's Cemetery in Bathurst. At the request of the family, in memory of M. Chamberlain, donations to the N.B. Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family. The funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Elhatton Funeral Home of Bathurst.
