Bathurst - Aurèle "Zan" Lagacé, 73, of the Villa Sormany, Robertville and formerly of West Bathurst, passed away on Wednesday (May 13, 2009) at the Villa Sormany, Robertville. Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late Joseph F. and Cécile (Godin) Lagacé. "Zan" was very sports orientated in Hockey, Baseball, Softball and was inducted into the Bathurst Sports Hall of Fame in 2000. He is survived by: One brother: Albert (Gilberte) of Nigadoo Two sisters: Jacqueline Frenette (Reginald) of Bathurst Anne Marie Deschènes (Jean Claude) of Edmunston Two sisters-in-law: Jeannette Lagacé (late Roger) and Yvette Lagacé (late Clovis) both of Bathurst Several nieces and nephews. The body will rest after 2 p.m. Thursday at Elhatton's Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday afternoon (May 15, 2009) at 4 p.m. from Eglise Notre Dame du Rosaire, St. Peter Ave., Bathurst. Donations in memory of Aurele “Zan” may be made to the Kidney Association or a favorite charity. Visiting hours are Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 and Friday from 2 p.m. until time of Funeral.
