Bathurst - Roger J. Daigle, 73, of Victoria Ave., (formerly of O'Neil Ave.) Bathurst, passed away peacefully on Saturday (May 23, 2009) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst. Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late Cleophas "Clifford" Daigle and Clothilda Glazier (late Leo Landry). Roger was employed for over 35 years with NB Power, retiring in 1994. Roger was involved in sports all his life, including Hockey, Baseball and Bowling; Competing on many championship teams. The Scouting movement was a very big part of his life, from Cubs to Rovers. Roger organized many activities with the Rover Crew, who still remained in contact with him over the years. Roger was a member of the U.C.T., Bathurst, and was also very active member of Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 18, becoming president in 2007 and was made a life member in 2008. Besides his wife, Sheila (McParland)) Daigle, he is survived by: Four children: Suzanne, Paul (Beth), Richard (Kelly) and Lisa Chamberlain (Clayton), all of Bathurst He was a loving grandfather "Poppy" to Shawn, Danielle, Hannah and Lea Two sisters: Claudette Imbeault (Leonard) of Rhodes Island, USA Jeannette Landry-White of Bathurst Several nieces and nephews. There will be no visitation at the Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday (May 27, 2009) at 4 p.m. from Holy Family Church, St. Peter Ave., Bathurst. Donation in memory of Roger may be made to the Royal Canadian Legion, Chaleur Regional Hospital Foundation (Palliative Care Unit) or a favorite charity. Arrangements are in the care of Elhatton's Funeral Home, Bathurst.
