Rough Waters, NB  -  Edward Pitre, 79, of Rough Waters, passed away on Saturday (August 7, 2010) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst.

Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the Clarence and Helen (Ross) Pitre.

He was a former employee of Brunswick Mines and was a member of the company's Quarter Century Club.  Edward was very active in his community and Church.

Besides he wife, Shirley (Chamberlain) Pitre, he is survived by:

Monique Pitre (Sean Gorman) of Toronto, ON

One grandson:

Damian Gorman of Toronto, ON

Two brothers:

Laurier Pitre of Petit-Rocher

Jean Claude of Chamberlain Settlement

One sister:

Hilda Stolliker (Bruce) of Montreal, QC

Many nieces and nephews.

He was pre-deceased by a brother; Michael.

There will be no visitation at the Funeral Home.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday afternoon (August 11, 2010) at 2 p.m. from the Sacred Heart Cathedral, St. Andrew St., Bathurst.  Donations in memory of Edward may be made to the Chaleur Regional Hospital Foundation or a favorite charity.  Arrangements are in the care of Elhatton's Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst.
