Bathurst - Mrs. Elizabeth Nowlan, 82, wife of the late John Nowlan, of Bathurst, passed away on Monday (September 13, 2010) at the Dr. Georges L. Dumont Hospital, Moncton, after a brief illness.

Born in Bathurst, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Martha (Doucet) Arseneau.
She was pre-deceased by her husband, John, two sons; Robert, Roger and a sister; Mary Arseneau.
 
She is survived by: Two daughters; Marie Jeanne Doucet (Gerard) of Orlean, Ont., Nancy Nowlan (Marcel Couture) de Gatineau, Que.  One son; Danny (Christine Gionet) of Bathurst.  Three sisters; Audrey Doucet (late Gerard) of Bathurst, Cécilia Shields (Ron) of Halifax, N.S., Valerie Couture (Aurèle) of Bathurst.

8 grandchildren; Marc, Tanya, René, Melanie, Carole, Christian, Mathieu, Magalie, 6 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
 
There will be no visitation at the Funeral Home.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday (September 17, 2010) at 11 a.m. from the Sacred Heart Cathedral, St. Andrew St., Bathurst.  Arrangements are in the care of Elhatton's Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst.  Donations in memory of Elizabeth may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Diabetes Association or a favorite charity.
