Montreal, QC – James Ford McAlister, 57, of Montreal and formerly of Minto, passed away on Friday (April 1, 2011) at the Jean Talon Hospital in Montreal.

Born in Dalhousie, he was the son of Marjorie (Smearer) (McAlister) Randall and the late James Stewart McAlister Jr.

He worked as a cook in Montreal.

Besides his mother and stepfather, Eldon Randall, of Newcastle Center, NB, he is survived by; One daughter, Angie Vern of Quebec, two brothers, Billy Graham McAlister of Minto and Randy McAlister of Calgary, AB.  5 nieces, Billie Jo, Megan, Kyra, Kynlie, Keydra, several uncles, aunts and cousins.

He was pre-deceased by a brother, Danny and a sister, Vern.

There will be no visitation at the Funeral Home.  A graveside service will be held at a date and time to be announced from the Bethel United Church Cemetery, New Mills.  Arrangements are in the care of Elhatton’s Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst.
