Robertville – Réal Doucet, 83, of Robertville, passed away on Sunday (August 28, 2011) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst, after a brief illness.
Born in Robertville, he was the son of the late George Doucet and Florence Pitre.
He served with the Royal Canadian Army during the Korean War and was a member of the Herman J. Good, VC. Br. 18, Royal Canadian Legion, Bathurst. He worked a the former S.M.I. Industry.
He is survived by his spouse, Délima Legacé, brothers & sisters; Clifford (Rita), Yvonne Frenette (Célestin), Sr Emélie Doucet, ss.ccjm, Denis (Armande), Noëlla Pelletier (Jacques) and Lucie all of Robertville, Gilbert (Pauline) of Ontario, Clovis of Bathurst, Marie Charpentier (Ulric) and Irène Creger (Ernie) both of Moonbeam, Ont., two step son, Stephen Legacé of Tremblay and Laurent Legacé of Bathurst; two step daughters, Pauline (Kenneth Roy) of Beresford and Melisa (Michel Guignard) of Red Deer, Alta., three step grandchildren, Lee Roy, Michelle Roy and an adored grandson, Alex. Several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by one sister, Jeannette Pitre and one brother, Edgar.
Visitations for Réal will be held after 2 pm Wednesday August 31, 2011 at Heritage Funeral Home (www.mfheritage.com), Beresford. Funeral mass will be celebrated Thursday September 1st, 2011 at 7 pm from église Ste Thérèse d'Avila, Robertville.
Visiting hours are Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9, Thursday from 2 to 4.
