It is with great sadness that the family announce the death of Mrs. Olga Calnan, wife of the late Gregory Calnan, of Ste. Anne St., Bathurst, which occurred on Thursday (April 12, 2012) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital in Bathurst, at the age of 80.

Born in Bathurst, she was the daughter of the late Eldon and Helen (Bertin) Melanson.

She is survived by their children: Micheal (Marie) of Bathurst, Diane (Colin MacKenzie) of Halifax, NS, Peter (Denise) of Thunder Bay, Ont., Dawn (Tim Haggar) of Halifax, NS, Edward (Diane) of Riverview, NB; twelve grandchildren: Melissa, Jason, Michelle, Mark, Brendan, Mathew, Alexandra, Shannon, Julia, Elizabeth, Celia and Holly. Also survived by many nieces and nephews;  brothers and sisters: Marion Kerr (Wesley), Franklin Melanson, Alfred Melanson (Judy), Theresa Degrace (Kenny) and Isabel Frigault, all of Bathurst.

She was pre-deceased by a sister, Jeannette O’Neil; brothers: Edward Melanson and Albert Melanson.

The body will rest after 2 p.m. on Sunday at Elhatton Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com).  Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday (April 16, 2012) from Holy Family Church, St. Peter Ave., Bathurst at 11 a.m.

Donations in the memory of Olga maybe made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Red Cross.

Visiting hours are Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 and Monday from 9 a.m. until time of Funeral.
