Bathurst - Mrs. Denise Hachey, 84, wife of the late J. Léo Hachey, of St. Peter Ave., Bathurst, passed away on Sunday (May 1, 2005) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst, after a brief illness. Born in Lachine, Que. she was the daughter of the late Gaspard and Marie-Jeanne (Leclair) Thouin. She enjoyed playing many sports throughout her life beginning with tennis, golf, curlling and bowling. She also touched many throughout her life with her passion for music. She was recognized for her involvement of the Bathurst Music Festival, The Bathurst Community Concerts her teaching and her classical performing arts . She was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Women's League, Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus, Ladies Auxiliary of the Chaleur Regional Hospital, and Ladies Auxiliary of the Herman J. Good, V.C. Br. 18, Royal Canadian Legion, Bathurst. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Léo, in 1989. She is survived by: Three sons: Jean-Paul Hachey (Carm) and Philippe Hachey (Alice) both of Bathurst Charles Hachey (Valarie) of Winnipeg, AB Two sisters: Hortense Bourbeau and Jeannette Provost (Charles) both of Montreal, Que. 8 grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by a daughter, Marie-Jeanne. The body will rest after 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Elhatton's Funeral Home, Bathurst. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday afternoon (May 4, 2005) at 2 p.m. from Holy Family Church, Bathurst.
