Mike "Michel" Vienneau

  • Mike "Michel" Vienneau 1949-2019

  •  Date of Death: April 22, 2019
  •  Location: Bathurst

The family of Mike (Michel) Vienneau wish to announce his passing Monday April 22 2019 at Chaleur Regional Hospital. Mike was the son of George and Mae (Lavigne) Vienneau.

He is survived by his life partner Coleen Ramsay, three sisters Mona (Dale Glendenning) of Bathurst, Louise Vienneau of Alliston Ontario, Constance (David) Rest of Missisauga Ontario, five brothers,  Ulysses (Elizabeth) Vienneau of Bella Vista California, Ralph (Sharon) Vienneau of Bathurst, Eugene Vienneau of Brampton Ontario, Daniel (Lori) Vienneau of Toronto Ontario, Alain Vienneau of Missisauga, Ontario sisters in law Irene Vienneau of Bathurst and Katherine Vienneau of Alliston Ontario and several nieces and nephews.

Mike was predeceased by his parents and two brothers Roland (Roly) Vienneau of Bathurst and Valmond Vienneau of Alliston Ontario.

Mike was larger than life with a laugh and heart to match. He made it a point to meet as many people as he could. A person met was a friend made. He knew everybody and everybody knew him. He enjoyed making people laugh; he believed in 'treating people good’; he loved sales and bargaining. For Mike, price tags were merely suggestions. These characteristics made him successful as a car salesman and entrepreneur.

Mike was a member of the Bathurst Legion, and Past Councillor of The United Commercial Travellers. He volunteered with the Bathurst Thunder Bird Baseball Team, organized the Annual Toast and Roasts honouring deserving community members and fund raised for a variety of worthy causes. He loved cars, hockey, baseball, telling stories, country music, playing Auction 45 with his friends and anything that allowed him to interact with and entertain people. He had a special place in his heart for children, elders, underdogs and people with physical or mental challenges. And he was a die hard Toronto Maple Leafs fan.

The family would like to thank 2nd floor east, 4th floor west at Chaleur Regional Hospital, and The Foyer Notre Dames-de-Lourdes for Mike’s care this past year. We would especially like to thank Dr Ganish, Dr Nadeau, the staff of 2nd floor west and Palliative Care at the Chaleur Regional Hospital whose professional consideration and administration to Mike and Coleen was very much appreciated.

There will be no visitation at the Funeral home. Funeral service will be celebrated on Monday, April 29, 2019 at 11 a.m. from the Elhatton Funeral Home Chapel.

In memory of Mike, the family would prefer donations to a charity of your choice or just treat someone good or make someone laugh.

Funeral arrangements are in the care of Elhatton’s Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com) in Bathurst.
