Salmon Beach, NB - Raymond Ellis, formerly of Salmon Beach, passed away on Saturday February 5, 2022, at the Foyer Notre Dame de Lourdes, Bathurst, at the age of 80.

Born in Canobie, he was the son of the late Wesley and Ruby (Beaudoin) Ellis.

He was pre-deceased by his first wife Marie (Sullivan) Ellis and second wife Marlene (Gore) Ellis.

Ray is survived by his children:

Randy Ellis (Trish) of South Tetagouche and

Tina Ellis (Kenneth Frenette) of Bathurst.

Three grandchildren: Tiffany Boucher of Beresford, Kassidy Ellis of Fredericton and Kevin Frenette of Bathurst.

Also survived by his siblings: Elizabeth (Donald) Daley, Edna Good, Roger (Linda) Ellis, Ken (Anne-Marie) Ellis all of Bathurst. Vernon (Shirley) Ellis of Fredericton, Norman (Ginette) Ellis of Beresford, Laura (Mike) Dozois of New Bandon and Brenda Ellis of Edmonton, AB.

Several nieces and nephews.

He was pre-deceased by his infant brother George, his sister Marion and brother Calvin.

Ray worked 36 years at Brunswick mines holding numerous positions over the years. Upon retiring in 2000 he went to work for Carter Bros with the responsibility of running telephone lines. Ray loved his Tim’s. He could be seen often enjoying his medium double-double and blueberry muffin in the company of many old friends. Ray loved being outdoors. He was always doing his favourite things, sawing and splitting wood or finding something to fiddle with. He loved his 4-wheeler rides. He would spend hours riding his ATV all over the down-shore trail, most likely enjoying one of his favourite snacks: a ham and cheese or peanut butter and banana sandwich. Ray loved horses. He would try to attend as many horse-hauling’s as he could. He loved watching the news, hockey, and his favourite movie “The coal miner’s daughter”.

You will always be loved and remembered by the lives you touched.

There will be no visitation at the Funeral Home. A grave side service will be held in the spring. Arrangements are in the care of Elhatton’s Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst. Donations in memory of Raymond may be made to a favorite charity.
