Salmon Beach, NB - The passing of Mrs. Majella Godin occurred peacefully on Friday May 30, 2025 at the age of 97 years and 11 months, at the Foyer Notre-Dame de Lourdes in Bathurst. She was the wife of the late Louis Godin. Originally from Bertrand, N.B., she was the daughter of the late Théophile Thériault and the late Phélonise Aubé.
A resident of Salmon Beach, N.B., Mrs. Godin worked as a nurse for more than 30 years in various hospital establishments in Bathurst.
She leaves behind her sons Cyrille (Perry Constantine) of Fredericton and Patrice (Hung Ming Chang) of Bathurst. She also leaves behind a step grandson Adam (Lorilee), and four great grand children Samuel, Emma, Leah and Anna; her Goddaughter Dianne Butler, her Godson Majella Thériault, her sisters-in-law Exilda Fréchette and Marlene Godin, as well as various nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband, she was preceded to the grave by her daughter Rose-Marie, her son-in-law Dan O’Neil, her nephew and Godson Gilles Fréchette, her brothers Albani, Stanislas, Jean, Donat et Valmond, and her sister Alexina (Butler). She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
The family will receive relatives and friends after 2 p.m. Friday, June 6th at Elhatton’s Funeral Home Chapel (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst, from where the Funeral Service will be celebrated at 4 p.m. Donations in memory of Majella can be made to Epilepsy Canada or the Foyer Notre-Dame de Lourdes Foundation would be appreciated.
Over the last few years Mrs. Godin was a resident of the Manoir Oasis de la Baie and the Foyer Notre-Dame de Lourdes. The family wishes to thank staff of both establishments for the good care that was provided to her during her stay with them.
