David William Scott, husband of the late Mary (Gildart) Scott, of Stonehaven, entered the gates of Heaven peacefully on July 9, 2025, at the age of 92.
David was born in 1932 to Eldon and Margaret Scott (Payne). He is survived by his sister Lela Branch (Percy). Sisters-in-law Elna Scott (late Rodney), Bernice Scott (late Earl), and Jean Gildart, brothers-in-law Arthur Jagoe (late Eileen) and Ozzie Gildart. He was the loving father to Vera Lynn Newell (David) and the late Janet Polegato (Lionel).
He was a grandfather to two grandchildren, Nicole Wooley (Clayton) and Cameron Newell (Rachel). He also had 3 great grandchildren, Margaret, John David and Mason. As well as many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his sisters Clottie Ellis, Alice Jagoe, Eileen Jagoe, Grace Scott, Rena Taylor-MacDonald and brothers Earl, Wendell, Jim, Rodney Scott.
David worked at Consolidated Paper until his retirement. In his free time, David loved to be outdoors. He could always be found working in his garden or on something around the barn. He also enjoyed spending time with his family. When his grandchildren would come to visit he would take them on tractor rides, snowmobiling or to the closest barn to see the livestock. David was a beloved husband, treasured father, grandfather and a friend to so many. He will be missed greatly!

A Graveside service will be held 3 pm on Friday, July 18th, 2025 in Stonehaven Cemetery. Donations in memory of David may be made to Central United Church or a charity of the donor’s choice.
