Bathurst - It is with great sadness that we the family announce the passing of Alfred “Freddie” Doucet, husband of Constance "Connie" (Vienneau) Doucet, of Bathurst, which occurred Sunday July 20, 2025, at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst, at the age of 84.
Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late Rudolph and Lucie (Roy) Doucet.
Besides his wife, he is survived by four children: Fernand Doucet of Moncton, Daniel Doucet of Bathurst, Carole Doucet (Livain Comeau) of Robertville and Dean Doucet (Nicole Robichaud) of Shediac.
Six grandchildren: Tammy, Isabella, Eric, Timmy, Sonia, Alexandra; eight great-grandchildren: Aaron, Nicholas, Liam, Chloé, Zack, Zoé, Bryson and Ella.
One brother, Roland Doucet (Theresa) of Bathurst. Two sisters: Joanne Frenette (Eugene) of Beresford and Lillian Jesso (Late Reg Jesso) of Saint-John, NB.
Several nieces, nephews, brother and sisters in law and his "Fur Baby" Maxie.
Besides his parents, he was pre-deceased by one brother (Larry) and two sister’s (Violet) and (Alice).
He worked as an industrial mechanic at the former Brunswick Mines for 35 years.
A funeral service will be held on Monday July 28, 2025 at 2 pm at the Elhatton Funeral Home Chapel, Bathurst. Donations in Freddie’s memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Association, Canadian Cancer Society or a favorite charity.
