Bathurst - Mrs. Nicole Soucy, wife of Charles Wait, passed away at her residence in Bathurst, on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at the age of 72.

Born in Edmunston, she was the daughter of the late Albénie Soucy and the late Alvina Bérubé.

Besides her husband, she is survived by two children: Peter Boutot (Chantal Martin) & Eric Boutot, both of Baker Brook, NB.

Two grandchildren: Patrick and Jennifer (Adrien).

Several brothers and sisters.

The father of her children, Marcel Boutot of Baker Brook, NB.

Three sons of Charles: Jean-François Wait (Lizzi) of Brampton, ON; Mathieu Wait of Bathurst & Patrick Wait of Alcida.

Two step-grandchildren: Destiny Faith and Samantha.

Several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews.

Nicole worked as a seamstress in sewing shops for several years. She later continued to serve customers at home. She worked in various Bathurst restaurants and at the Superstore. Her favorite volunteer work for nearly 20 years was knitting mittens for Bathurst schoolchildren and preschoolers.

She was a wife with an exceptional heart for her husband and for all.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, August 22, 2025, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Elhatton Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com) in Bathurst.  Funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, August 29, 2025, from Église Saint-Coeur-de-Marie in Baker Brook.   The family will receive relatives and friends from 10 a.m. until time of Funeral.
