It is with great sadness and fond memories of love and kindness we, the family, announce the passing of Robert J. “Bob” Aubie, which occurred at the Chaleur Regional Hospital in Bathurst, on Monday, August 18 at the age of 89.
Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late Leo and Irene (Stever) Aubie.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Edna (Doucet) Aubie of Bathurst; one daughter Karen Guitard (Sylvain) of Bathurst; one son Daren Aubie (Lianna) of Edmonton, Alberta; Two grandchildren Tonya Wadden (Dave) of Moncton, Sam (Danica) of Edmonton, Alberta; two great-grandchildren, whom he adored, Gibson and Olson Wadden both of Moncton; brothers Ray Aubie (Geri) and Gary Aubie (Claudia) both of Bathurst.
Besides his parents Bob is predeceased by brothers Ronnie and David; sisters Shirley, Jeanie, Sharon, and Annie.
Bob was a retired firefighter of 38 years with the City of Bathurst Fire Department. He was a lifetime member of the Provincial fire chief’s association, Nepisiguit salmon association, and the Bathurst volunteer firefighter’s association. He loved camping and followed blue grass outings, a hunter, fishermen and bowler. Bob loved being on the water in his boat “The Sea Bandit”. He lived life to the fullest with family on many outings at his camp in Middle River with many corn boils with fellow firemen, enjoyed many days camping at Stonehurst in Moncton.
A special thank you to the staff of the Chaleur Regional Hospital on the west wing, you made Bob’s stay more enjoyable. Thank you to our kind neighbors, Charlene and Guy, for all your help and cooking that was sent up to Bob, everyone should be as lucky.
A Celebration of Life for Bob will be held on Sept. 14th from 2-4 at the Aubie Residence, 786 Riverside Drive, we ask that family & friends please join us. Donations can be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
