Milton Dale Brune, 74, went to be with the Lord on September 24, 2025, surrounded by his family at the Chaleur Regional Hospital in Bathurst, New Brunswick. Milton was a devoted servant of Christ, a loving father and a husband of 51 years to his wife, Donna.
Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late Harold and Margaret (Jennings) Brune. He is survived by his wife Donna (Jagoe) Brune of Janeville, NB; his son Ryan Brune (Alyssa); his daughters Faith Smith (Wilson) and (late) April Brune; all of Janeville.
He was the proud grandfather of Rowan Brune as well as an uncle to several nieces and nephews. Milton is also survived by two sisters Alberta Leah Rourke (Calvin) of Stonehaven, NB and Avalena Dimick of Marathon, ON.
Milton Dale had a passion early on for music, practicing wind instruments and vocals. He was a young member of a local instrument group and church choir and eventually sang as part of a gospel band which toured in several provinces. He was a member of the Anglican Parish of New Bandon where he was a member of the vestry and acted a warden for a period of time.
Milton had also enjoyed carpentry and home design which eventually led to employment as a draftsman apprentice at Brunswick Smelter. During the mid 70’s he started employment at Brunswick Mines eventually becoming the supervisor of several operations there until year 2000 when he was involved in a severe accident on his way home from work which greatly impacted the course of his life.
During his lengthy recovery Milton’s toughness, determinations and unwavering faith pulled him through several obstacles as he had to learn to walk, read and write again as well as grave physical trauma.
Thank you to all of the doctors that cared for him over the past 25 years, without you he would not have been in our lives this long. Another special thank you to the angelic team in palliative care that helped comfort him during his final days.
There will be no visitation at the funeral home. A funeral service for Milton will be held at 1 pm on Sunday, September 28, 2025, from Christ Church Anglican, Clifton.
Donations can be made to the Anglican Parish of New Bandon or the Red Cross.
