It is with sadness that the family of Margaret Couture, of Dunlop and formerly of Bathurst, announces her passing on Thursday, November 20th, 2025, at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, with family at her side after a brief battle with cancer. Margaret was 78 years old.
Born in Bathurst, she was the daughter of the late Donald and Catherine (Peter) Cormier.
She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Leonard.
Five children; Paul (Julia Roy), Jacqueline Couture (Gilles Comeau), Jacques (Alain Mercier), Debbie Lavigne (Michel) and Anita Couture.
Six grandchildren : Shayna Gagnon (Martin), Tiffany Robichaud (Joel), Marc Couture (Tina), Jenna Gallant (Brett), Eric Godin (Tina Arseneau), Jean-Phillipe Comeau (Kimberly).
Nine great-grandchildren; Alex, William, Arielle, Calab, Chad, Cody, Avery, Melodie and Georgia.
Two brothers; Réginald (Levis) and Ronald (late Kelly).
One sister; Diane Cormier.
A sister-in-law, whom she cherished for her kindness Jeannine Doucet (Robert).
She was predeceased by a sister; Marie-Rose Roy and three brothers; David, Alcide and Tommy.
There will be no visitation at the funeral home. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 27th, 2025, at 11 a.m. from Elhatton Funeral Home Chapel (www.elhatton.com). Donations in memory of Margaret may be made to a charity of the donors choice. A special thank you to her brother Ronald Cormier for his generosity. A big thank you to the staff at the palliative care unit at the Chaleur Regional Hospital.
