Bathurst - The family of Marie Marcella “Marcy” Frenette heavily mourns the loss of a loving partner, beautiful mother, and retired foster mother who suddenly passed on Thursday December 4, 2025, at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst, at the age of 77.

Marcy was the cherished partner of Omer Chamberlain, and mother of Michelle Shawana (Bernard Shawana), Darrin Frenette, Raymond Frenette all of Toronto and was predeceased by a daughter, Sharon Frenette.

She has one grandchild Rachelle Frenette and one great grandchild Olivia Frenette.

Born in Bathurst, she was the daughter of the late Gerald and Mathilda (Robichaud) Frenette.

Remembered by her six brothers: Lucien, Alban, Edward, and Raymond of Toronto and Claude & Gilles both of Bathurst. Including her two sisters: Carmella of Toronto and Donna of Manitoulin Island.

Many nieces, nephews and friends will also be missed by her.

Besides her parents and daughter, she was predeceased by three sisters: Glenda, Hilda and Cora.

Marcy was a compassionate, strong, loving, caring person and beautiful soul. She was proud of raising a family as a single mom, creating a loving home, including 20 years of fostering 4 babies and 2 children in the childcare system. She loved cooking, eating seafood, reading Harlequin romance novels, playing bingo and spending time with her family. Her sudden passing leaves us with an aching heart, with hopes that she is at peace and reunited with her daughter.

There will be no visitations at the funeral home. Celebration of life, funeral mass will be held on Thursday December 11th at 2 pm from Holy Family Church, Bathurst. Donations in memory of Marcy can be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. Arrangements are in the care of Elhatton’s Funeral Home, Bathurst.
