We are saddened to announce the passing of Peggy Scott, which occurred on December 22, 2025, at Chaleur Regional Hospital, at the age of 78. She spent her final days with her loving family by her side.

The eldest child of the late Harold and Edith Payne, Peggy is survived by her husband of 59 years, Francis; daughter Melanie (Len) of Vancouver; brother Dawson (Margot) of Stonehaven; sisters Laurie (Clinton) of Nackawic and Trudy of Janeville; nephew Jordan of Stonehaven; niece Fiona (Dave) and great-niece Madalyn of Bathurst.

Peggy was devoted to her family, friends, and neighbours in Salmon Beach. She will be remembered for her generosity, warmth, and gentle humour, as well as her resilience in facing life’s many challenges.

Gifts in memory of Peggy may be made to the Luxor Shriners of NB Transportation Fund or to First United Church in Bathurst.

In keeping with Peggy’s wishes, a private service will be held next spring.
