Fredericton – Mrs. Helen Grace Ellis, wife of the late Mr. Charles Ellis, formerly of Bathurst, NB, passed away on Thursday, January 1, 2026, at Thomas Hall Nursing Home in Fredericton, at the age of 98.

Helen was born in Moncton, the daughter of the late Aubrey and Lillian (Powell) Chapman.

She is survived by one son, Mark Ellis (Denise Schurman) of Fredericton, NB and two daughters, Wenda Ellis MacDonald (Sally Middlebrooks) of Lunenburg, NS, and Beth Green (Glen) of Smiths Falls, ON.

Three grandchildren, Kerry, Andrew and Kaitlin, and six great grandchildren, Eleanor, Jane, Harper, Ethan, Huxley and Ruxton, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband and parents, she was pre-deceased by her sister, Dorothy and brothers, Donald, George and Walter.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday January 9, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Elhatton's Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst. Funeral Service will be held later that afternoon at 2 p.m. from the First United Church, St. Patrick St., Bathurst. Family flowers only. The family requests that donations in memory of Helen be made to your provincial Alzheimer Society.
