It is with great sadness we the family, announce the passing of Jeannette Lavigne, wife of the late Howard Lavigne formerly of Rough Waters Drive, Bathurst, NB which occurred at Chaleur Regional Hospital on Monday, January 12th, 2026, at the age of 84.
She was the daughter of the late Lucien Thériault and the late Imelda Haché of Grande-Anse, Adopted by late William and late Genevieve Hachey of South Bathurst, NB
She leaves behind one son Michael Lavigne and daughter in law Anne Lavigne whom she loved.
Also, one grandson Brandon Lavigne (Palessa Daigle) and two great grand children Lena and Cameron which she loved very much.
She also leaves behind many in-laws, nieces and nephews, including her special niece, Charline d’Entremont
She is also survived by four sisters: Agnès Theriault of Caraquet, Denise Roy (Charlie) of Bathurst, Cécile Robichaud (Phil) of Inkerman, and Edith Burke (Sylvio) of Grande-Anse; and two brothers: Flavien (Raymonde) and Donat (Roseline), both of Grande-Anse.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her stepmother Yvonne L. Thériault; her brothers: Lionel, Clarence, Elisé, and Jeremie; and her sisters: Florida, Florence, Géraldine and Lucia. Her adopted sisters, Nelda, Adeline, Yvonne, her adopted brothers Ben, Edmond, Emile and Frederick.
She will be deeply missed and forever in our hearts.
Visitation will be held from Elhatton’s Funeral Home on Friday January 16, 2026, at 9a.m. till depart for the funeral. Funeral mass will be held from Sacred Heart Cathedral at 11 a.m.
Donations in memory of Jeannette may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
