It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lloyd Alderic Boudreau, who died peacefully at the Chaleur Regional Hospital on February 7, 2026, at the age of 84, following an illness of several months.
Born in Beresford, New Brunswick, Lloyd was the beloved son of the late Delphis Boudreau and Eva (Landry) Boudreau.
Lloyd was the devoted husband of Olivette (Guignard) Boudreau of Petit-Rocher, with whom he shared 60 wonderful years of marriage.
Lloyd was a member of the Chartered Professional Accountants of New Brunswick (CPA). He began his professional career with the Provincial Government and later served as the Assistant Administrator of the Chaleur Regional Hospital, where he remained until his retirement in 1996. In addition to his professional work, Lloyd owned and operated LB Surplus Ltd. for 20 years with his wife, Olivette. Having worked in an Army surplus store as a younger man, he was proud to fulfill a long-held dream of owning a surplus store of his own.
Following retirement, Lloyd and Olivette enjoyed many years as snowbirds, spending their winters in Haines City, Florida until 2020, where they formed lifelong friendships that they cherished deeply.
Dedicated to his community, Lloyd was a longtime member of the Rotary Club of Bathurst, serving as President in 1992. He was also a proud member of the Bathurst Knights of Columbus 1935, and a winter-visiting member of the Haines City, Florida Rotary Club.
Lloyd is survived by his loving children: Ronald Boudreau (Angela) of Darlings Island, New Brunswick, and Carole Burton (Darryl) of Hammonds Plains, Nova Scotia. He cherished his granddaughters, Camryn and Drew Burton, both of Hammonds Plains, NS, and was immensely proud of them.
He is also survived by Angela’s children, Nicholas and Zachary, and by Angela and Ronald’s grandchildren, Jasmine and Tay, who were an important part of his extended family.
Lloyd is also survived by his sisters: Monette Roth (Jurg) of Orléans, Ontario, Glenda Boudreau (Louis Bilodeau) of Moncton, Fernande White (Donald) of Beresford, and Marjelaine Holding (David) of Bedford, Nova Scotia, as well as his brother Raynold Boudreau (Denise) of Tracadie.
He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Gabriella (Gaby) Guignard of Bathurst.
Lloyd was predeceased by his parents, his brother Vernon Boudreau (Patricia) of Petit-Rocher, brothers-in-law Donald (Cécile) of Beresford and Gérard (Peter) of White Rocks, British Columbia, and sisters-in-law Odina Guignard of Petit-Rocher, Angela (Gilbert) D’Astout of Sept-Îles, Québec, and Eliette (Lucien) Doucet of Saint John.
He will be fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews, as well as by extended family and friends.
The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to the compassionate staff of 4 East, and especially the Palliative Care Unit (Emilie, Daniel, Doreen, Holly, Joan, and Marceline) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, for the exceptional care, kindness, and compassion shown to Lloyd and his family.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at Elhatton Funeral Home Chapel, 187 St. George Street, Bathurst. Doors will open at 1:00 p.m., with the service beginning at 2:00 p.m. A reception will follow.
