It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Leonard Boyd, husband to Germaine (Morais) Boyd, which occurred peacefully at the Chaleur Regional Hospital on Sunday, February 15, 2026, at the age of 78.
Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late Malcolm Boyd and the late Cora (Black) Boyd.
He leaves behind his two children: Stephen Boyd of Pabineau Falls and Cindy (Thomas) Peter Paul of South Tetagouche.
Seven grandchildren: Stephanie, Rachael, Amber, Jenna, Jonathan, Matthew and Chloe.
Two step-grandchildren: Greg and Malerie.
Seven great-grandchildren: Landon, Leo, Clyde, Liam, Cohen, Watson and Liam.
One brother: Gary Black of Big River.
Several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his siblings: Bill, John, Margaret, Angeline, Joseph and Kenny. Step-grandchild: Nathaniel.
Throughout his lifetime, he worked at the City Motel, for the Forestry, and devoted 40 years f his life working for Johnson’s Van & Storage and North American Van Lines.
He was a strong man but his true strength was his kindness. He was the kind of man who genuinely cared for others and would give the shirt off his back without hesitation. He would be the first to show up to help a friend or neighbour in need. He was the kind of man who would do anything to put a smile on your face. He liked going for drives with his loving wife. No matter where they went, they would usually end up around water, whether it would be Pabineau Falls, the beach, or around the basin to feed the ducks. Listening to the sound of water gave him a sense of peace. His proudest accomplishments were his children and his greatest joys was his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He loved nothing more than spending time with them and getting to watch them grow up. If they were happy, he was happy!
He will be greatly missed by all of his family…..until we meet again!
We would like to thank the staff of the Palliative Care unit and Dr. White for all the care given to Leonard.
