It is with deep sadness we the family would like to announce the passing of Lilianne (Lily) Frigault of Bathurst at the age of 79, which occurred suddenly at her home on February 23,2026 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Bathurst, she was the daughter of the late Clifford and Yvette (Aubé) Godin. Besides her husband Angus Frigault, she is survived by two daughters: Suzanne of Upper Kingsclear, NB, and Ginette of Bathurst, NB, her grandchildren: Hannah, Grace, Alexandre and Samuel.
She also leaves behind her brothers and sisters: Murielle Hébert (Clovis) of Petit-Rocher, Joan Godin (Jacques) of Laplante, Michel Godin (Paulette) of Laplante, Ella Thibodeau of Petit-Rocher, Christine White (Carl) of Beresford, Luc Godin of Beresford, Colette Godin (Jean) of Petit-Rocher, Angela Frenette (Jean-Guy) of Beresford and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by sisters: Judith Roy (Valmond), Monique Taylor (late Mike) and brothers: Ronald Godin, Patrice Godin, and Clifford Godin (Simonne).
Lilianne was a graduate from the Bathurst School of Nursing Hȏtel-Dieu where she worked for a number of years and then took a pause to become a full-time homemaker, took a refresher course and returned to work at the Chaleur Reginal Hospital, she then went to work with the Victoria Order of Nurses (VON) until her retirement.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Anthony Wade, the Oncology Department at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, and the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital’s Oncology Centre for their excellent care.
As per her wishes, there will be no visitations or funeral service. A graveside gathering for family and friends will take place in the spring. Donations in memory of Lilianne may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
